Melrose deal for Hatters not dead

The Hatters suffered a blow earlier this month when the consortium, led by former Manchester City player Jim Melrose, had a bid to buy the club rejected by the Football League.[LNB]Yet County's administrators say the Melrose bid has not been discounted and that they remain in the hunt to buy the club.[LNB]They said in a statement: "A statement was made in the media recently which claimed that the Melrose Consortium failed the Football League's fit and proper test.[LNB]"We would like to clarify that this statement was not issued by Leonard Curtis or by the Football League and the Melrose Consortium are continuing to progress their interest.[LNB]"We have received a number of other enquiries, however, and are still actively seeking interest for the club in order to maximise the prospects of concluding a sale."[LNB][LNB]
