Mathias revels in County late show

Stockport boss Ray Mathias was delighted to see his side claim a last-gasp 2-1 victory over Southend. After Kyle Asante cancelled out Greg Tansey's 28th-minute penalty, the Hatters kept alive their slim hopes of avoiding relegation thanks to Daniel Rowe's injury-time winner. But Mathias admitted the hosts shouldn't have left it so late. "It should have been 10 - we didn't take our chances and the keeper made a couple of saves, but overall very pleased with it," he said. "We can't afford to let teams in that late in the game through lack of concentration. We let it happen at Aldershot last week and it continued again. "I've seen Danny Rowe playing in the reserves on Tuesday night and it made my mind up that I was going to put him in and he must have made 10 runs, tremendous pace and a great goal. For the young kid to win the game for us, I'm absolutely delighted."
