Stockport caretaker manager Ray Mathias felt his players were a match for Wycombe in their 2-0 defeat, but need to show more belief between now and the end of the season. Lewis Montrose gave Wycombe a flying start by firing home Gareth Ainsworth's cross into the top corner in the 10th minute and Scott Rendell converted a penalty four minutes before the break after Stockport midfielder Adam Griffin had handled. Mathias said: "I was disappointed we didn't take the opportunities which we created. They had a lot of the play, but we created chances but we just couldn't stick them away. "I said to the boys at half time that they're second in the league, but they're no great shakes. I thought we were equal to them. "We gave what we had, we played through them, we cut through them like butter at times, but we just didn't take our chances. We've got to believe, I'll never stop believing until it's the last kick on the last day at the end of the season. "The fans that have been here - we've got to keep going for them and it's important we start against against Stevenage next week."
