Stockport caretaker boss Ray Mathias remains hopeful that he will be given the chance to lead the club's attempt to return to League Two. County's 106-year stay in the Football League is over following their relegation and Mathias' future is shrouded in uncertainty. The club have received applications from several candidates for their managerial position but Mathias is hoping to get the nod. "Hopefully I'll be back," he said. "The most important thing for the club is to get the manager in as soon as possible and make sure he's given the chance to bring in the players that he wants."
