Kevan impact pleasing Simpson

Stockport boss Paul Simpson has hailed the impact of the new coach Dave Kevan following his appointment last week. Kevan left Notts County in October and was added to the Edgeley Park backroom staff on Thursday after assistant Peter Ward was given time off following the death of his father. Simpson paid tribute to Ward after a difficult week and insisted the team of three could work together to help County in their relegation battle. Simpson told the Stockport Express: "Dave has been absolutely fantastic. People will probably notice that Peter Ward wasn't at Northampton and he's been through a really difficult time lately, unfortunately his father passed away on Wednesday and he's been back and forth from the north east over the past five or six weeks. "It's obviously a really, really difficult time for him and I've got a hell of a lot of sympathy for what he's going through. "Hopefully, we'll all find that we can work together and we'll get a combination in the staff that can help the players to go out and get results."
