Hatters invite applicants for manager's job

Stockport are inviting applications for their vacant managerial position as they gear up for life outside the Football League. Caretaker boss Ray Mathias has already thrown his name into the ring to win him the job full time as County prepare for non-league football for the first time in 106 years. Yet he will face competition from a number of other applicants after the club advertised for the position following their relegation from npower League Two. A club statement said: "Stockport County Football Club are looking to recruit a football manager. "All applicants should have appropriate qualifications and experience relevant to this very important role and will need to provide a full CV with any application. "As he explained to the media after the game at Crewe, Ray Mathias has already put his application in to the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors are expecting to interview applicants that fulfil the required criteria at the earliest opportunity."
