Hatters in talks with investors

The financially-crippled League One outfit are saddled with debts which have threatened to force them into administration and be docked 10 points by the Football League. That course of action raised fears the club would subsequently be forced into liquidation and never recover but there is now hope that County will survive their darkest hour. Hoyle told the club's official website: "As a board, we continue to believe in fans participation in the ownership of the Club through the Supporters Trust model, but it is unrealistic to expect fans on their own to provide the financial and other resources necessary to keep Stockport County progressing in the Football League. "To continue in this way would mean us having to drastically cut the playing budget and other costs. "This is a significant matter, so in the interests of making sure we cover all options, we are talking very seriously to a number of people. The board are assessing their motives and seeing what they can bring to the club."
