The Hatters will play their FA Cup second-round tie against Torquay at neighbours Macclesfield after drainage problems led to the game being postponed twice, while the League One game against Swindon last Tuesday was also called off because the pitch was unplayable.[LNB]Sale Sharks' recent Guinness Premiership home game against Wasps on November 27 was similarly called off because the pitch was waterlogged.[LNB]County's second-round Cup tie will now take place at the nearby Moss Rose on Tuesday, December 15 with a 7.45pm kick-off while the playing surface at Edgeley Park is relaid.[LNB]But Charlton's visit should still go ahead despite the problems caused by what Stockport cite as "unprecedented rainfall, failure of the pitch's drainage system and an area of damage on the pitch caused by contractors."[LNB]County have thanked landlords Sale for their assistance and a club spokesman said: "We have had several conversations with Sale, and we would like to thank James Jennings and Neil Hilton for the positive way that they have approached this problem, a difficult issue for both clubs. They have agreed to spend a significant sum relaying turf on the worst affected areas."[LNB][LNB]
