Gaffer Gannon set for Seagulls talks

The highly-rated Gannon has emerged as the Seagulls' first-choice replacement for Micky Adams, who was sacked at the weekend.[LNB]Brighton chairman Dick Knight contacted Stockport counterpart Martin Reid, who has given Gannon permission to talk to County's League One rivals.[LNB]Reid said: "Jim has been such a success since taking charge of the team in 2006 that interest from other clubs is inevitable.[LNB]"Brighton chairman Dick Knight called me over the weekend and asked for permission to speak to Jim which, to be fair to Jim, has been granted.[LNB]"However, Jim remains crucial to our immediate survival plan and also to County's long-term ambitions. We certainly don't want to lose one of the best young managers in the country and sincerely hope his future remains with us here at Edgeley Park."[LNB][LNB]
