County close in on new boss
It was confirmed earlier on Monday that the League One side are poised to come out of administration after Brian Kennedy's Cheshire Sports and shareholders agreed to a Company Voluntary Arrangement.
With a CVA in place, Stockport will come out of the administration, meaning they will avoid a points deduction and paving the way for a prospective manager to begin his tenure with a clean slate.
The club said in a statement: "The club has been through a very traumatic time and we hope that as things develop over the coming weeks, the incredibly loyal County fans will once again show their support.
"To the people that matter in this process, the players, the staff and the fans we can promise that we have delivered the only credible vision and offer for Stockport County and that our business plan is based on a sound financial and commercial plan.
"We intend to announce the appointment of a new manager by Wednesday of this week."
Celtic coach Neil Lennon has been linked with the post, which has been vacant since Jim Gannon and assistant Peter Ward were made redundant by administrators Leonard Curtis in May.
