Ablett: Mariners clash was fair

During the clash, Matty Mainwaring was stretchered off with a fractured tibia and fibula and Paul Turnbull limp off with an ankle injury. Turnbull was forced to withdraw after a heavy challenge shortly before half-time while fellow midfielder Mainwaring was taken to hospital just after David Poole had grabbed what turned out to be the only goal of the game for the Hatters in the 53rd minute. Ablett told County World: "We took Paul off as a precaution, he had a toe injury through the week after the Vauxhall game (on Wednesday) and he's just gone over on his ankle. "Matty's is obviously a lot more severe. He's fractured his tibia and fibula unfortunately. We've spoken in the changing room about the way he'll need the boys more than ever in terms of motivating him and picking him up. We'll all help, we'll all motivate, we'll all give him the encouragement that he needs to get him back to full fitness and back in the side. "I certainly don't have any problem with Paul's (challenge), I've haven't seen Matty's to be honest because I was looking away from the ball in terms of where our other players were. So I'm not going to comment on that until I've seen it properly. "I thought the game was played in a competitive spirit, a fair spirit and a good spirit. Lads were picking either other up and shaking hands when they committed fouls, so it was never that type of game in my opinion."
