Ablett critical of Poole dismissal

Poole was dismissed during injury time by replacement referee Andy Bennett for a foul on Rovers full-back Daniel Jones, having already been booked.[LNB]Original referee Dean Whitestone had been forced off at half-time by a calf problem and Ablett did not consider his assistant up to the task. Jeff Hughes netted the winning goal on the half hour, drilling home a left-footed shot after a dreadful pass across his own box by County full-back Adam Griffin had set up the chance.[LNB]Ablett said: "It's not a place to learn your trade as a referee, which he was clearly doing. We need people out there who know the job. It was a very poor decision to send off David Poole and you only had to look at the reaction of the Rovers player involved to see that.[LNB]"I thought we were the better team from start to finish. But Rovers defended very well and we made a very bad mistake for their goal.[LNB]"It disappointed me that we got the ball into good areas without much end product, but I couldn't fault the work rate of the players. We made it a very difficult game for Rovers."[LNB][LNB]
