Beattie sidelined for Stirling again

Stirling Albion entertain Montrose and the Forthbank men are again missing former Scotland striker Craig Beattie with a hamstring injury.

Darren Smith and Phil Johnston will both miss out with knee trouble but manager Stuart McLaren is hoping to land former St Mirren and Dumbarton winger Mark Lamont before kick-off.

Assistant manager Martyn Corrigan said: "Our win over East Stirling last Saturday got our season up and running however there was not a great deal of difference in the level of performance.

"We had been unfortunate in recent weeks however now that we have the confidence of winning behind us we can look to build on that."

Montrose look for their first away points without the services of on-loan St Johnstone goalkeeper Jordan Millar who has a shoulder problem and captain Paul Watson who has a stomach injury.

Manager Paul Hegarty said: "We have made a solid start to our league campaign in terms of our home games however we are not getting over excited by it and are concentrating only on one game at a time.

"We are now looking to pick something up on our travels.

"The gauntlet has been thrown down to the players in terms of getting that first win and hopefully they can do that at Stirling Albion."
