Forsyth missing for Stirling

Bottom-of-the-table Stirling look set to be without their new signing Ross Forsyth when Montrose visit.

The defender has been absent from training this week due to illness.

Jamie Clark is also a major doubt because of illness with Ross McGeachie struggling with a foot injury.

Defender Gary Thom is a definite absentee as he is suspended.

Forthbank manager Greig McDonald said: "It will be disappointing if Ross does not make it as his experience will help us but we will just have to get on with things against a good Montrose side.

"This is the start of a busy period of games where we will be looking to move up the table and defeating Montrose would be an excellent way of starting that run."

Montrose centre-back Phil McGuire injured a knee at training on Thursday night and was immediately ruled out of his side's trip.

However, there is better news for the Links Park men as full-back Stephen McNally returns after a ban with manager Stuart Garden targeting a move up into second place should leaders Rangers defeat Queen's Park.

Garden said: "If we can defeat Stirling and Rangers win then we will move into second place for the first time this season.

"However, it will not just be a case of turning up and our opponents handing over the points we have to go there and win them.

"They have strengthened their pool so we know that we face a real challenge."
