Thom back after ban

Stirling have Gary Thom available after suspension but he is unlikely to make manager Greig McDonald's starting XI against East Stirling following Saturday's 3-1 win over Montrose.

A win over the Shire would give Stirling the points needed to lift them off the bottom of the Third Division table for the first time in four months and McDonald looks set to stick with a winning side.

Ross McGeachie remains sidelined with a foot injury and Jamie Clark is not ready to return after illness.

McDonald said: "We are entering a really busy period of games and will need the whole squad but after the way we played against Montrose I am reluctant to change anything.

"Win this game and we have a platform to start chasing Clyde in eighth place."

Nathan Shepherd looks set to return after two months out with a knee injury to help out an East Stirling defence that conceded four goals in a nine-minute spell at the weekend.

The injured trio of Philip Zufle (ankle), Rhys Devlin (knee) and Jordan Holt (ankle) remain sidelined and Max Wright is included as a trialist for the third and last time.

John Coughlin's side visit Stirling looking to keep their hosts below them in the table and the head coach said: "Apart from a crazy spell against Peterhead on Saturday we played well.

"If we can play well for the 90 minutes we can take something but we are going to have to stand tall to do that. Stirling will see this as a great opportunity to move ahead of us."
