Full-back returns to boost Albion

Bottom club Stirling Albion will include Kieran McAnespie in their squad to face an East Stirling side one place above them in the table.

The full-back played in a reserve game in midweek after more than a month out with a calf injury.

Skipper Brian Allison looks set to miss out again as he is still suffering the effects of a sickness bug and he will join the injured Jamie Clark, Danny Ashe, Jamie McCunnie and David McClune on the sidelines.

Player-manager Greig McDonald said: "There were a lot of positives in our last game against Queens Park as we showed that there is a lot of spirit in our squad. It would be great to get the win we need to kick-start our season."

East Stirling's Ricky Miller is a pre-match injury doubt.

Head coach John Coughlin is ready to give the defender a Saturday lunchtime test to prove his fitness.

The Shire are already without Philipp Zufle, who is suspended, and the injured Rhys Devlin, Jamie Benton, Jamie Glasgow and Craig Donaldson as well as having Craig Hume unavailable.

Coughlin said: "We are passing the ball about really well in games but not picking up enough wins as unfortunately we are not tight enough defensively or clinical enough in front of goal. Hopefully we can put these two things right.

"Stirling will see this as a game where a win gives them a massive lift and takes them to within sight of getting off the bottom."
