Kevin McKinlay absent as Stirling host Berwick

Stirling will be without defender Kevin McKinlay against visitors Berwick on Saturday.

McKinlay has a hamstring problem, while former Scotland striker Craig Beattie is an injury doubt.

Fifth-placed Stirling knocked seven goals without reply past Montrose in midweek and assistant manager Martyn Corrigan said: "We played as well in that game as we have in other games this season but the main difference was that we took our chances.

"Everyone has taken a lift from the performance and we know that a top four place is still available. Berwick will be well organised under John Coughlin and they will be out to blunt our attacking threat so this will be a difficult game."

Berwick welcome Steve Notman back from a ban, but skipper Jonny Fairbairn is suspended for a second game running and Sandy Cunningham, who is on loan from Stirling, will not feature.

Brian Martin is available again after work commitments kept him out.

Manager John Coughlin said: "Stirling had a big result in midweek and they will be keen to build on that. They have forward players that can hurt you if you allow them to build up a head of steam so we have to try and restrict their openings.

"They will look to attack us all the time and we need to stand up to that."
