McDonald states case for defence

Stirling manager Greig McDonald is hoping to add an experienced defender to his squad before kick- off against Annan.

McDonald's options are limited as Kieran McAnespie has been ruled out with a hamstring injury and a knee complaint keeps Chris Smith on the sidelines.

Meanwhile, Ross Forsyth will miss out due to suspension.

McDonald is looking for his men to start the game better than they did in last weekend's 4-0 defeat to Berwick.

He said: "Our game plan was over last weekend after 15 seconds as we lost a goal through hesitant defending. We need to be switched on from the first whistle against an Annan side determined to bounce back after losing to Clyde."

Ally Love will be absent for Annan with a leg knock he picked up against Clyde and he joins Iain Chisholm (knee) and David Hopkirk (foot) on the sidelines.

Chris Jardine will continue his fight back to full fitness in a Southern Counties Cup tie.

Annan manager Jim Chapman hopes his side come out on top in the battle between two unpredictable teams.

He explained: "Stirling are a bit like us in that they win a few games and then lose. We are both inconsistent but the season is at a crucial stage and we need to start winning consistently."
