Stirling seek cup boost

Stirling Albion add fit-again striker Steven Doris to their squad for the visit of Airdrie in the Scottish League Cup but Ross McMillan's thigh injury keeps him out and Ross McGeachie is a doubt.

Both sides are looking to put disappointing results behind them, as Stirling assistant manager Martyn Corrigan explained: "We were ahead twice at Elgin last weekend and were knocked out and Airdrie had a very good first half at Annan before losing their way in the second.

"I am sure they were as disappointed as we were at going out the Petrofac Cup and will be looking to use this game to get a boost before the league starts next weekend."

Airdrie will be without knee-injury victim Marc Fitzpatrick and Jim Lister, who has a groin problem, as they look to recover from their 3-1 defeat at Annan.

Manager Gary Bollan, who also has a question mark over the availability of midfielder Bryan Gilfillan, said: "I was really pleased with our opening 45 minutes, however the second half was poor. We have good players and I want them to go out and be positive for the entire game and if they do that we will do okay.

"Stirling will be hurting as well after losing a lead twice and they will be looking to win their first home game so it will be tough."
