Stirling effort for Stirling

Andrew Stirling's 84th-minute winner gave Stirling their first home victory in 10 months as they beat Peterhead 2-1.

The League One basement dwellers had not won on their own patch all season but Stirling turned home Lewis Coult's cross from close range to finally give their home supporters something to cheer.

The hosts had fallen behind after just four minutes when Rory McAllister's deflected free-kick found its way past Callum Reidford in the home side's goal.

However, 59 seconds later Coult levelled matters with his first goal for the club which came via a low right-footed drive.

Reidford made a fine double save to deny McAllister and David Cox before the break and Peterhead's goalscorer was thwarted by the stopper again from a second-half free-kick.

Gary McDonald hit the crossbar for Peterhead and Albion managed to grab a long overdue home success through Stirling's tap-in.
