Ross Allum earns Edinburgh a point against Stirling

Ross Allum's late goal gave Edinburgh City their first point since promotion to Ladbrokes Scottish League Two as they held Stirling to a 1-1 draw at Forthbank Stadium.

Stirling started brightly, Eddie Ferns' run setting up Isaac Layne who fired over. But home goalkeeper Chris Smith had to make an excellent save in the 17th minute to keep out out Dean Cummings' header.

Ferns continued to cause problems after half-time, again setting up Layne whose effort was brilliantly stopped by Calum Antell. Fittingly it was Ferns who set up the goal, swinging in a free-kick that skipper Ross McMillan glanced into the bottom-right corner. However Allum fired into the corner from Dougie Gair's cross with six minutes to go and almost won it at the death when his shot was blocked.
