Craig Beattie fires Stirling to vital win

Stirling closed in on the play-off positions after Craig Beattie came off the bench to fire them to a 1-0 win over Arbroath.

The former Celtic striker, a 78th-minute substitute, required just four minutes to make an impact, curling the ball into the net with the outside of his right foot.

Steven Doris, who was the provider for Beattie's winner, should have added to his eight goals this term but fired over the crossbar on two occasions.

The victory, Stirling's first in four matches, lifts them up to sixth in the League Two table, just a point behind fourth-placed Clyde.
