Wallace the hero

Ryan Wallace scored a last-minute penalty as East Fife left it late before securing a 1-0 win over bottom side Stirling.

The hosts could have taken the lead inside the first minute but for Sam Filler who produced a fine save to deny Steven Hislop.

Hislop tried his luck in the 16th minute but Filler again produced a superb stop to keep out his long-range drive.

Stirling went close before the break but Michael Brown did well to tip John Crawley's effort behind.

As the game looked to be heading towards a stalemate Gary Thom brought down Robert Linn inside the area in the final minute.

Wallace stepped up to convert it to claim all three points and lift the Fifers within reach of the play-off positions.
