Westley: We are honest bunch

Stevenage boss Graham Westley urged his side to ignore "nonsense" talk of gamesmanship and concentrate on winning promotion after a 2-0 win at Burton. Midfielder John Mousinho hit an early goal in off the crossbar and added a penalty with two minutes left to leave Albion fighting for survival. Earlier reports had suggested The Football League had written to Stevenage to ask for their response after rival clubs alleged that the side systematically feign injury in order to create "time-outs" during games. Westley said: "I just hope that all this nonsense that's being said about us at the moment doesn't take anything away from the efforts of the lads who are an honest bunch and have worked really hard to get us where we are in the table. "We didn't expect it to be easy and it certainly wasn't because Burton have good players who can look after the ball. What we did do was stamp some authority on the game early on by taking the game to them. It was a wonderful passage of play that led to the early goal and it was a cracking finish from John Mousinho. "We knew we would have to deal with periods of pressure but the early goal meant we could sit in and work on our defensive organisation. Burton had possession at times but we didn't give them too many chances."
