Stevenage manager Graham Westley was pleased to end a run of five straight away defeats following their 1-0 win over Crewe. Boro`s last victory on their travels before their triumph over Alex came in early November, whilst the visitors also claimed their first victory in seven games. Scott Laird headed home into the bottom corner from Jon Ashton's flick-on in the 87th minute to secure all three points. Westley said: "I am really pleased to get the win off the back of five straight defeats. "We've not been very good on the road. We keep calling ourselves unlucky and we've put in some dogged displays but not got our just rewards. "But we worked hard, were disciplined and it was good to get the winner with a set-play at the end."
