Westley states case for defence

Stevenage boss Graham Westley was angry with his side`s defending in the lead up to Accrington`s winning goal. Borough had the ball in the net shortly before Sean McConville scored the only goal of the game but the effort was not given. Westley felt aggrieved at the decision, but was also frustrated with the defending in the lead up. "I am disappointed that Chris Holroyd had a goal disallowed as we cannot see why. It wasn't offside and the ball has been nodded down and Holroyd has finished it well," said Westley. "Then, 30 seconds after this, they have countered and scored what turned out to be the winning goal. It was sloppy defensively from our point of view and we have paid the price. "I am disappointed as I don't think we have lost since about the beginning of October and it stops our run and we don't like losing football matches. Now have Southend on Tuesday and we have to go there and be on top of our game and we want the three points."
