Westley: I thought goals would flow

Stevenage manager Graham Westley confessed that he did not forecast the goalless draw that transpired in his side's clash with Oxford. In the first Football League meeting between the two sides neither could force a breakthrough, and Westley was left to muse on how a promising start faded into stalemate. "When both sides hit the woodwork in the first two minutes you would never have thought then that it would finish goalless," he said. "It was a much-improved performance from the lads and we showed tremendous work-rate and spirit. "We got control of the game in the second half and had the better of it then." The result means Stevenage have now failed to win any of their last six matches.
