Welch eyes permanent stay

On-loan goalkeeper Joe Welch has set his sights on earning a permanent deal with Stevenage. The 22-year-old joined the League Two side from Histon on a deal which runs until the end of the season, but is eager to stay longer."I'm expecting to find it quite hard, going from playing every week to maybe not playing, but that's part and parcel of being a goalkeeper. I'll have to be patient and start over," Welch told the Cambridge News."I'll take it from week to week. There are six weeks of the season left to impress the manager, and we'll go from there."Whether it's League One or League Two football, if I can get a permanent deal then that would be brilliant."Stevenage have won five matches in a row, leaving them just three points adrift of the automatic promotion places.
