Steven Schumacher in contention for first league appearance of season

Stevenage midfielder Steven Schumacher could be in contention for his first league appearance of the season against Plymouth.

Schumacher is working his way back from knee ligament damage and played for 60 minutes in the midweek Checkatrade Trophy tie against Brighton, who won on penalties.

Ben Kennedy is away on international duty with Northern Ireland Under-21s, but fellow midfielder Harry McKirdy, on loan from Aston Villa, is pushing for his first league start.

Defender Ronnie Henry and on-loan Nottingham Forest forward Tyler Walker both recovered from knocks in time to appear on Tuesday night and are also in contention.

Defender Sonny Bradley should return for leaders Plymouth as the Pilgrims look to bounce back from the midweek defeat at Wimbledon.

The 25-year-old, who had started in every game in the league, was rested for their Checkatrade Trophy tie but will feature at the Lamex Stadium.

Pilgrims boss Derek Adams has confirmed striker Paul-Arnold Garita will be back in full training next week following his recovery from a hamstring injury.

Gary Sawyer will definitely be missing after having an operation on an abductor muscle injury and will be sidelined for 12 weeks.
