Ashton blow for Boro

Stevenage captain Jon Ashton has been ruled out of the home game against MK Dons.

The defender suffered a leg injury during last weekend's goalless draw against Carlisle and is also set to miss the midweek trip to Coventry.

Utility-man Roarie Deacon faces a longer spell on the sidelines after it was revealed he needs ankle surgery.

Midflelder Joe N'Guessan is also out with an ankle injury but winger Filipe Morais is fit after a month out with a thigh problem.

The Dons will be without the suspended Stephen Gleeson.

Gleeson received his 10th yellow card of the season during the home defeat to Peterborough last weekend and the midfielder must now serve a two-match ban.

However, some good news for Dons manager Karl Robinson sees Ben Reeves return after recovering from a hamstring injury. Reeves will be joined in the squad by fellow forward Daniel Powell who has overcome a bout of illness.

"Reevesy's fit so that's a big bonus for us," said Robinson. "He's trained for two or three days and he goes straight into the squad. Powelly's back too so we are going there with a stronger team, even though we are without Stephen Gleeson - and that's a blow. It's typical us that when we get people back, we lose others."
