Boro weigh up Agyemang replacement

Stevenage are likely to be without Patrick Agyemang when they host Doncaster.

The striker missed last weekend's 2-1 win at Crewe due to a hamstring injury.

Boss Gary Smith has plenty of options in attack after Lukas Akins partnered Marcus Haber at Gresty Road and both found the net.

Smith also gave on-loan Watford striker Steve Beleck a debut as a second half substitute while Sam Hoskins, the recent loan signing from Southampton, was on the bench.

Hoskins will be hoping to make his Boro debut although Smith will be tempted to start with the side which ended their three-game losing streak.

Defender Jon Ashton is the only other injury concern as he battles back from a long-term Achilles problem.

Billy Paynter will be the only definite absentee for Doncaster's interim management team.

Striker Paynter will serve the second game of a three-match suspension for the red card he received during the 2-2 home draw with Sheffield United on New Year's Day.

Dean Saunders left to take over at Wolves this week so former Wales Under-21 boss Brian Flynn, who has been working for Rovers as a scout, and captain Rob Jones have been placed in temporary charge of first-team affairs while the South Yorkshire club conduct their search for a new manager.

Flynn and Jones could have Martin Woods back from the thigh injury that has kept him out since November, while fellow midfielder James Coppinger is hoping to make his 300th league appearance for Doncaster.

Another milestone is within reach on Saturday. Rovers can break a club-record of 11 consecutive unbeaten away matches if they avoid defeat at the Lamex Stadium.
