Gray back for Boro

David Gray returns to the Stevenage squad for the visit of Crawley.

Gray missed Tuesday night's 3-0 win at Crewe through suspension after collecting five yellow cards and could regain his place at right-back, allowing Jimmy Smith to move back into midfield.

Winger Lucas Akins remains suspended, however, due to his red card in last weekend's 2-1 defeat at Walsall.

Midfielders Michael Doughty and Simon Heslop returned from illness to face Crewe and should keep their places but striker Darius Charles is still on the sidelines with ankle ligament damage.

Crawley will again check on top scorer Billy Clarke.

Town's four-goal striker failed a fitness test on his knee injury ahead of Tuesday night's 3-0 loss to Port Vale and has now missed the last three matches.

Boss Richie Barker has an otherwise fully-fit squad to choose from as they attempt to bounce back from their first defeat in eight games.

James Hurst could reclaim his place at right-back after returning from suspension on the bench in midweek, which would allow Josh Simpson to revert to his preferred midfield role.
