Ben Kennedy in contention to start for Stevenage against Chesterfield

Stevenage boss Darren Sarll will consider bringing Ben Kennedy back into their starting line-up against Chesterfield.

The Northern Ireland Under-21 international returned from the bench last weekend after two months out with a knee injury.

Stevenage have not won in the league since Kennedy netted the winner against Accrington just before he got injured, and he may be called for in a bid to reverse their fortunes.

Sarll has otherwise reported he has no new injury concerns prior to the contest.

Struggling Chesterfield have reached an agreement for Sheffield United goalkeeper Jake Eastwood to join them on an emergency loan after Cameron Dawson returned to Sheffield Wednesday.

The Spireites lost summer signing Joe Anyon to a broken arm in the 2-0 Checkatrade Trophy defeat to Fleetwood earlier this month and hope to have Eastwood training with the team in preparation to go between the sticks in Saturday's match.

Manager Jack Lester has a question mark over defender Sam Hird's (hamstring) fitness after his failure to train on Thursday, while midfielder Robbie Weir is suffering from tonsillitis and is ruled out.

Brad Barry (hamstring) may return to contention after missing last weekend's 1-0 defeat at Wycombe as Chesterfield look to bounce back with a result and move out of the relegation zone.
