Lee salvages point for Boro

An equaliser by substitute Charlie Lee rescued a 2-2 draw for play-off chasers Stevenage against Tranmere, who remain a point adrift of safety.

Kayode Odejayi's header looked to be guiding Rovers to a vital win after Bira Dembele and Jennison Myrie-Williams had traded goals but in the end the result does neither side much good with Boro sitting two points off the top seven.

Stevenage were ahead in just the fourth minute as Tranmere goalkeeper Peter Brezovan was beaten too easily to Ben Kennedy's corner by Dembele, who nodded into the unguarded net.

The visitors were then gifted an equaliser when Dembele and goalkeeper Chris Day left George Green's long ball to each other and Myrie-Williams accepted the gift his old club had presented him.

Rovers snatched the lead right on half-time when Odejayi thumped a terrific header into the top corner from Max Power's cross.

But Boro were to force themselves level with 12 minutes left when Lee rolled the ball into an empty net after Roarie Deacon's shot had been blocked.
