Oxford frustrate Stevenage Oxford stay eighth in npower League Two with their second successive goalless draw away from home, leaving Stevenage without a win in five matches. This was the duo's first meeting in the Football League after they both came up from the Blue Square Premier last season. The game had an explosive start with both sides hitting the woodwork in the first two minutes. Stevenage's club record signing Craig Reid smashed a 25-yard drive against the bar after little more than 30 seconds and when play switched to the other end, Oxford striker Tom Craddock beat his marker and fired a shot against the left post. United's top scorer James Constable also struck the woodwork with a right-footed volley that grazed the outside of the right post. After a frenetic first half, the game lost some of its intensity in the second half as the teams cancelled each other out and the defences stayed on top.
