Sinclair pushes for Boro outing

Robbie Sinclair is pushing for a start as Stevenage prepare to host troubled Portsmouth in the Carling Cup. Sinclair came off the bench to create Charlie Griffin`s late equaliser against Macclesfield on Saturday and hopes to have done enough to win a place in Graham Westley`s XI. Lawrie Wilson`s place is under threat, while fellow substitutes Yemi Odubade and Chris Beardsley also impressed. David Bridges sits out the second of a three-game ban after he was sent off in the the FA Trophy final against Barrow in May while Jon Ashton is out with a hip problem. Westley has said he will tinker with his team over the first five or six games as Borough get used to life as a fully-fledged Football League outfit.
