Hornets edge past Boro
Second-half goals from Stephen McGinn and Marvin Sordell earned Watford a hard-fought 2-0 win over Stevenage at the Lamex Stadium.
New Hornets signing Rene Gilmartin prevented the Football League newcomers from taking a first-half lead with some fine saves before McGinn opened the scoring in the 57th minute following a great run from Danny Graham.
The Hornets doubled their advantage in the 73rd minute, Sordell firing home from close range from Graham`s pass.
Gilmartin pulled off another superb save to deny substitute Stacey Long a consolation goal.
