Griffin blow for Borough

30 August 2010 16:30
Stevenage are expected to be without striker Charlie Griffin ahead of their Johnstone's Paint Trophy first round tie against Brentford. Griffin went down following a challenge just 24 minutes into Saturday's League Two draw at Aldershot and was unsteady on his feet as he walked off the pitch. He then received further attention and was taken to hospital and is unlikely to be risked against the Bees. Scott Laird is likely to come into the side if Griffin is ruled out after he came on to replace Griffin at the weekend. David Bridges could come into Graham Westley's starting line-up if the Boro boss opts to make changes, while the likes of Laurie Wilson, Tim Sills, Luke Foster and Joel Byrom are also waiting in the wings.
