Bridges to miss Stevenage bow

Stevenage will be without David Bridges for their first Football League fixture at home to Macclesfield. The attacking midfielder is suspended having been sent off in the the FA Trophy final against Barrow in May and will miss the first three games. Manager Graham Westley has said he will tinker with his team over the first five or six games, meaning places are up for grabs. But Westley will be unable to call on the services of injured defender Jon Ashton, who has a hip problem. Luke Foster - one of five summer signings at the Lamex Stadium - will hope for a start at centre-half alongside Mark Roberts. Michael Bostwick could be moved into midfield while Peter Winn is likely to debut on the left wing.
