Stevenage boss Graham Westley will welcome Jon Ashton back into the squad to face Southend at the Lamex Stadium.
The 28-year-old defender missed the 1-0 defeat at Accrington at the weekend through suspension after picking up his fifth booking of the season in the FA Cup replay win against MK Dons.
Ashton is likely to go straight back into the starting line-up.
Other changes are on the cards following Saturday's defeat so Scott Laird, Ben May, Stacy Long and David Bridges, who were all rested on Saturday after playing 120 minutes against the Dons, could find themselves back in the starting line up.
Lee Boylan (calf) and Darren Murphy (ankle) remain long-term absentees.
