Jon Robertson banned for Stenhousemuir clash with League One rivals Peterhead

Stenhousemuir will be without suspended midfielder Jon Robertson when they host Peterhead on Saturday.

The 26-year-old was sent off late on in the Warriors' defeat to Ayr last weekend and cannot feature as Brown Ferguson's side look to exact revenge following their 3-0 Petrofrac Training Cup quarter-final loss to Peterhead three weeks ago.

Sitting seventh in League One, Stenhousemuir will also be without Ciaran Summers (knee), Euan Murray (hamstring) and Allan Smith (hip) with Ferguson aware of what needs to improve from the cup defeat.

"We were undone by three set pieces in the last game and we have worked hard on ensuring that does not happen again," he said.

"We lost 1-0 to Ayr last weekend however our performance in the second half was very strong and if we can build on that then we can do well."

Jamie Stevenson misses out with a hamstring injury for the Blue Toon however manager Jim McInally can recall Steven Noble who is now fully over a hamstring problem, with the boss not taking nothing for granted despite the impressive cup success less than a month ago.

"That was a false result and one that we have not talked about ahead of this game," he said.

"Stenhousemuir had much more possession than we did however they could not turn that possession into goals. We cannot take the chance that the same will happen in this game. We played really well for the first half hour against Airdrie last weekend but we need a 90 minute performance in this game."
