Scully is Pars hero

Ryan Scully saved a late penalty to secure Dunfermline a 1-0 win over Stenhousemuir and boost their play-off hopes.

Lewis Martin's handball with eight minutes left handed 14-goal striker Colin McMenamin a chance from the spot but his effort straight down the middle was saved by Scully.

Faissal El Bakhtaoui's earlier strike leaves the Pars three points off fourth-placed Brechin.

Scully was in fine form in the first half, saving from Ciaran Summers, Paul McMullan and Kristopher Faulds.

Just before the break El Bakhtaoui clipped the top of the bar but he found the target two minutes into the second half.

David Hopkirk's left-wing cross was teed up by Andy Geggan for El Bakhtaoui who lashed home for his first goal since November.

Scully kept the lead intact by pushing away McMullan's 64th-minute free-kick before his late heroics made sure of the three points.
