Wolves join McLean chase

Published: 18 Jan 2012 - 17:37:02

The chase for Kenny McLean's signature is hotting up after it emerged Wolves are ready to make a bid for the midfielder.

Championship side Burnley have been the club most comingly linked with the 20-year-old but news of Wolves' interest emerged last night. Obviously they see him as one for the future - in the way they signed Leigh Griffiths last year - and will hope to develop him into a Premiership star.

Saints boss Danny Lennon was asked about the possibility of players leaving last night and said: "As of yet, we haven't had any offers. We're building something here but once it goes to a certain amount it is beyond me, it is the club's decision.

"These lads are going to go all the way, no doubt about it, but I would just hope they are here a little bit longer."

This would suggest there have been no official bids yet but a large one may be in the offing that the club would find hard to refuse. Hopefully if that's the case we take Wolves for more than £500,000 and get some add ons thrown in.
