St Mirren boss Gus MacPherson has admitted that defender David van Zanten is all but certain to leave the club in the summer.
The 26-year-old is currently sidelined by injury and MacPherson believes that the Irishman will move on at the end of the season.
He commented: "There has been a contract on the table since October and it has not been signed. So I am not confident that he will be here next season.
"There has been no further contact with his agent, who has obviously advised him not to sign it.
"If you let a contract sit on the table for four or five months, then you are not going to accept it."
Van Zanten joined the Buddies in the summer of 2003 and has made nearly 200 appearances for the Love Street club.
