Upbeat Molloy ready for action

St Mirren midfielder Craig Molloy is determined to win a regular first-team place this season after enduring an injury-ravaged 2007-08 campaign.

The 22-year-old missed pre-season training last term after suffering a broken metatarsal and made only five substitute appearances all year.

Molloy told the Paisley Express: "Last year I was in a plaster cast for the first three weeks of pre-season training, so I couldn't do any running.

"After what happened last year, I realise how important it is to make sure I'm ready when the new season starts.

"It was a hard, hard time for me back then and that's why I've been really looking forward to this season.

"I don't want to look too far ahead though and I'm not one to set targets. I'm just taking each day as it comes."
