Upbeat Hamilton feels fine

St Mirren striker Jim Hamilton believes he is ready for a first-team return after recovering from a hamstring injury.

The 32-year-old was able to play in a midweek reserve team game and came through the encounter with Rangers' second string unscathed.

He said: "I feel fine and now it's a case of keeping my fingers crossed that I'll be involved this weekend.

"I had tried to train on Thursday and Friday last week in the hope that I'd be fit for the Hamilton game but it just wasn't right.

"I'd have let the team and myself down if I'd played in that game but I came through this week's reserves match without any problems.

"It was probably best to delay things for a couple of days and now I just need to try to force my way back into the first team."
