Sutton vows to battle on

St Mirren striker John Sutton is determined to battle through his current injury problems and help the Buddies move away from trouble near the foot of the table.

The 23-year-old former Dundee forward picked up a head injury during Sunday's 1-0 defeat against Rangers but is determined to play in the remaining games of the season.

He told the Paisley Express: "I managed to cut my eyebrow against Hibs and then picked up another head injury against Rangers, but there was nothing vicious involved in either incident.

"I just got caught when I went up to head the ball.

"The wound has been glued up and everything should be fine. Hopefully, I won't pick up another knock.

"When we do return to action, we'll have five cup finals to play in. That's the way we must treat these last remaining SPL games."
