Sutton may stay a Saint

Striker John Sutton has given St Mirren hope of retaining his services beyond the end of the season despite his contract expiring in the summer.

The 22-year-old brother of Aston Villa marksman Chris Sutton has already seen his short career span seven different clubs.

But, after arriving at St Mirren Park at the beginning of last season, the Norwich-born player finally feels at home.

"It's enjoyable settling down and living in the same place for a little while," admitted Sutton.

"People always think the grass is greener on the other side, which is not necessarily the case.

"It's silly to look too far ahead because you never know what's going to happen.

"But, since I've been up here, I have enjoyed coming into training and hopefully improving my game and I don't see why I would want to change that."
