St Mirren striker John Sutton is happy that the January transfer window has closed, so now he can focus on helping the Buddies avoid relegation from the SPL.

The 23-year-old was linked with several clubs both sides of the border last month, but now just wants to get on with playing, having scored only twice in his last ten games.

He told the Paisley Express: "It's a bit of a relief that the transfer window has closed now, because I always said that I wasn't looking to leave.

"There was even a story about me going to Falkirk which was unbelievable.

"What it means now is that I can focus on my football and hopefully help the side to get out of our dip."
