Smith enjoys return to action

St Mirren goalkeeper Chris Smith is delighted to be back in action after a spell on the sidelines due to illness.

Smith featured in the 1-0 weekend defeat by Kilmarnock, having not played for the Buddies for almost a month.

He told the Daily Record: "I felt good after the Killie game. It was disappointing that we lost, but it was great to be back.

"It was worrying not knowing what the problem was. I just took it in my stride, but I think everyone else was a bit scared for me.

"It was frustrating for me being stuck in hospital and missing football.

"But it was more important that we found out the cause of the problem. It was a bad infection, but things are looking better now."
